And so dear friend I shall travel no further now that everything and the days are getting shorter. I donʼt know if this letter will reach you, since I am giving it into secret hands, which will try to conceal its existence. In any event I do not expect to hear from you again, if for no other reason, that I donʼt expect to be around much more; but the hope that you will read it gives me joy to share our thoughts once again. Do you remember walking in autumn of 2005, two years after the illegal invasion of Iraq, agreeing that Americans were already at war with Russia - at the time, by provocation, intimidation, sedition, corruption and by propaganda. And how you thought that we will not allow it to happen - by other means - so what is there to think of, now, after the Three Day War?
This birthday I look at things with some morbid equanimity of my age, but I suffer seeing a woman of your character exposed to this passion and madness. I wish to shield you from drastic action and ask you to take care. The time for deeds is gone; there is no room for righteous action, just shelter within you the cherished thoughts. And memories of what might have been done to reverse the process.
The naiveté at large was astounding: I remember telling you of my conversation with a Cambridge man, who ridiculed Putinʼs comparison of installation of missile defence in Europe with Cuban crisis, saying: ʻno comparison between, defence missiles here and nuclear warheads thereʼ - ignoring that MAD mutually assured destruction kept the world from nuclear war for forty years. And that placing of a shield around the Russian borders to fence in any retaliation against attack would leave no doubt about victory. Poland incidentally, accepted as part of the process another foreign army on her soil, after struggling for years to remove the Russians; I was reminded of Radziejowski letting in Swedes as friends and all that.
The naiveté of Europe in accepting false reasons to make decisions which then inevitably led to this war was our undoing. It all developed step by step, as the evolution and the fact that homo sapiens was now overtaken by Neanderthal and not the other way round as happened 75,000 years ago, appeared almost natural. These apes are now sitting with their fingers on nuclear outer space and in as much as our Earth represents only one of 177 billions of earth-type planets, its razzing will not be seen as a great loss to the Universe. But our hearts bleed for what is going to be lost and for what might have been on our fair planet. And perhaps not just for ourselves, but for universe at large, since who knows, maybe there was not on the other 177 billion another Shakespeare or Tolstoy.
If not finally destroyed we look at a prospect of the black-ages lasting 500 years, managed by curtsey of Blackwater Ltd sub-contracting murder throughout our continent. When in 2008 I published ʻ44 Bellsʼ foreshadowing the Gotterdammerung for Siberia the natural reaction to such a tale at the time was that it was sound and fury signifying nothing for every woman and man. They can continue to live their lives untouched by the immensities of catastrophe to come. The satisfaction gained from the simple round of life need not be altered even when seen against this vast backdrop of the universe. We may live and die without raising up our eyes to secure safety of our globe. Whilst the favoured company hiring every degenerate for its private enterprise machine-to-kill, protected by hegemonized governments, and under Congress instruction to suspend ancient rights when necessary, is ruling our lives and making the world into a splendid concentration camp on foreign shores.
We still wonder how this lie of War on Terrorism - was projected on the masses by the media and by little-Blaires to control the sentiments of naive populations. After all we all knew that they killed 3000 of their own people in New York, as asserted by members of their Congress like Ms Cynthia McKinney, and as believed by two thirds of American people. We still wonder how we did not see it coming and why we did not help American people to drive a cart on Broadway, pulled by five elephants with plumes, signalling in order to chuck him out:” Bush is a Wank”
When the recession of 2008 engineered to allow Americans into other states pretending to quell unrest whether of right or left became deadly, the people in their naiveté, that quality again, accepted pre-planned programmes as an unpre- dictable event of economy. They acquiesced to the US evolved a righteous sounding rationale for a World Currency to combine the Euro and the Dollar with England acting as an ʻhonest brokerʼ offering the Pound, to sell Europe short by completing the deal which in one fell swoop destroyed all capital outside US and repaid its trillions of debts. How was it we did not stop them saying: no woman will buy anything in Wall-Mart and with an electronic display on every screen: “Bush is a Wank”
The inconvenience of democracy was got rid of in 2009 by the two parties accusing each other of stealing ideas, with the Right borrowing from left and the Left adopting policies of the right, acting as a one party system - each party becoming an imitator of the other while in executive whoever now stepped into Presidentʼs shoes becoming another Bush Wank, being a Bush-clone applying one and the same American roguery like a ventriloquist dummy. They blame the dummy at the end of every term to hide the origins of the evil policy from their naïve citizens. And gerrymandering alternate main party ma- jorities defeating any dissenting voice. Elected by discussing political trivia and stirring extremist emotions, like for instance against abortion, while people overlooked the fact that in killing one million Iraqis at least 20,000 must have been pregnant women who were totally aborted. How was it that the not pregnant women did not shout: we shall not allow conceptions this month, there will be no babies in July next year and: “Bush is a Wank”
Yesterday pacing the Bayren countryside, wintery now, I thought of those people savage as wild beasts, unthinking as plants ordered to spy and threaten thousands like me and you to prevent us remembering how it all happened. During the 2010 Cuba got incorporated into a Caribbean Federation with Haiti and Dominican Republic under protection of USA, becoming once again the playground for the Yankees. There were some aspects of the new ʻbrothel stateʼ which were criticised in the Congress, such as the relax-centres, where little girls some as young as six and sevens, yet without tits, were trained for sexual pleasures of tourist visitors, like in the old Batista days. But it was now a friendly country and the centres were under free enterprise, which should not be bothered, even if disapproved, which would interfere with the market and with democracy. In addition they produced an abundance of bananas exported to USA without restrictions. Fidel Castro lying in a local hospital was assassinated by an American of Cuban origin with a chopper which Condoleezza, now a prospective Presidential candidate, declared as regrettable in its brutality but symbolic by reference to the death of another Communist, Trotsky nearby. The perpetrator was released for diminished responsibility as was the previous year the assassin of Mr Rabin. Internationally Americans begun to talk about United Nations as if it was an extension of the State Department. They opened their horizons reminiscent to the Nazi views in 1940: in terms to moving people from here to there, between continents. They borrowed an idea from them of moving Palestinians to Madagascar and were active with the Israelis in transplanting parts of Lebanese and Gaza populations from one place to another. Not to mention repopulating Siberia with friendly allies from Eastern Europe or Caucasus. All being combined with a sense of duty to democracy and a holiday spree for the one remaining world-hegemon. How was it that we did not cancel all our holiday bookings that year with a declaration that: “Bush is a Wank”
But do you remember, that in 2011 there were still some signs of hope, of reversing the slide of morality towards to class interest of a capitalist patronate,- particularly by the young with idealistic and socialistic views. However even the churches accepted Americans request that for whatever they do, a moral justification must be furnished from every level and section in the society, so it was given, while the young demonstrated throughout the land to no avail. Our Idsanist groupings were often declared terrorist in background and members were prosecuted, jailed and tortured. In 2011 the masses still persisted in the belief that they ruled with their ballots, so the wealthy who at one time were charged extortionist prices, for obtaining legislation of their interests; decided now, that it was cheaper to buy the political machines, hire trade union bosses and advance new form of scientific management. It was considered safer than trusting the voting confusion of the masses, in case they got wise. How was it that we allowed naïve idealists and objectors, do-gooders with fateful fondness for confusing morals and politics, bourgeoisie preoccupied with fashion or home making, intellectuals dissecting words rather than reading the meanings, always to act too late, instead of all of us joining the young, the salt of the earth from every nation. Why did not those who remembered and loved as you and I did those of Seattle of ʻ99 and Genoa of 2001 did not decide we shall march every day in every street until it all stops and shout: “Bush is a Wank”
The desperate haters of taxes were coming back happy with capitalism not observing that power was rising in all places greater than the people themselves, and that their darlings like Sarkozy or Berlusconi were combining all interests into a single one of billionaires. Their power allowing no appeal to justice, humanity or right, which nothing could touch, was using mammon to tread upon the faces of the poor. We were invited to look at new and invented crimes: train-driversʼ strikes, retirement insurance claims, protest treated as terrorism, octogenarians sheltering savings for great-grand daughters, little girls putting feet on train seats, or council tenants overfilling dustbins, with a thousand new laws created every year to widen the public criminality; while Blackwater & Co were killing with total immunity. Belief that spirit could not be lobotomised was wrong. The soul of Spain, of citizens of France, of insular Britons, of chastened Germans, able Poles, soulful Russians, or meaningful Finns and Scandinavians, or creative Italians and Greeks, who on another day, would have soon detected the prosaic arguments - offered by primitive neo-cons, or on American high street - but that their own mind became muted by the same petty-bourgeois greed and lumpen-proletariat mould. How was it otherwise, that we did not paste across the BBC (to start with) screen a notice “Bush is a Wank”
De Villepin was sentenced to death (temporarily suspended) in 2012 for it was established from Iraq papers produced by CIA and information of one of Saddamsʼs guilty generals, that it was he who furnished evidence to Schroeder of the absence of WMD, which steered Germany away from participating in invasion of Iraq to the detriment of War on Terror. The death penalty was reinstated at that time in Europe, for crimes of terrorism, whether actual or of propagandist kind. In any event it was a fulfilment of a promise made by Sarkozy to Bush on his first visit in June, when Bush asked for it as a personal favour, and Sarkozy declared that it would give him pleasure and he would welcome further evidence from CIA. This we realised was some kind of funeral for the cause of peace but we forgot to place a block across the Champs Elysees: “Bush is a Wank”
And Paris paid the price of the Franceʼs absence in the fateful invasion, as it was established that Saddam would not have resisted the invasion if it was not for her refusal to join, initiated by Chirac. US made a claim for every life lost at a rate of 250 million per soldier which worked out as 1.25 trillion against France. Americans were reasonable and accepted the Musée de Louvre in settlement and as a further compromise settled for the contents only while the freehold remained with the City of Paris, with America paying a nominal rent - they also undertook that the contents will remain in the building, although the new owners would be allowed to take them on travelling or permanent exhibitions. And we did not scroll across Guernica to display it in every city in Europe: “Bush is a Wank”
There were other arrangements affecting various Euro- pean institutions trying to put order into the continent after the war. The ECB was transferred to London with a permanent English head; the ex-Nazi VW was purchased by Barclays Bank and became a British car company with headquarters in Birmingham and Airbus was joined with Boeing becoming the A-B & Co. a joint American company with headquarters in Chicago. The Baltic gas pipe was discontinued with Russia being charged for ecological removal of all equipment installed. But since these administrative arrangements were being made, all on very good moral basis, none had the spirit to lift a finger against it with “Bush is a Wank”.
And there were also other world changes affecting us now, which we did not anticipate, but they were introduced as rewards or otherwise connected with Pax Americana. A Polish company was stationed permanently in the Kremlin as a reminder of peace of 1612; Siberia is now run by Mr Gore, whose anticipated job was planned with green roots which were rewarded by a Nobel Prize. He manages it as an Ecological Region belonging to the world, under American administration. The new Pope elected in 2014, is an American, constructing the greatest Catholic Basilica, to sit 100,000 under a single Buckminster-Fuller roof, on the spot where Columbus landed in America, with the idea of moving the geriatric, as he describes it, Vatican administration there, to make the Church more progressive and incidentally to control better South American faithful and their priesthood which has been excommunicated en-masse, as terrorists. Some of them still display at times the three letter appellation: BIA and often are killed at the altar: “Bush is an Antichrist”
Israel, as you know, administers the great Middle-East region from its centre in Baghdad, using occasionally and with great control and decency, the limited size neutrino atom bomb, developed by US in the nineties, destructive of living matter but not affecting the infrastructure, so that the historical buildings are protected, even if people are excluded. As a memorial of the Holocaust every European capital had to erect a memorial, similar to one in Berlin, with a museum developing the crimes not limited to those committed by Germans, but linked to local population and indigenous traditions of anti-Semitism. Every child in Europe has to adopt a Jewish child victim as his step-brother or sister and research is being made into ancient pogroms and even deposition of the Jews from Spain in the Middle Ages. This started early with Mr Sarkozy in 2007 but was extended and naturally not objected to by anyone. Nor did we ask our little children, as inappropriate this time, whatever we may have wished, to display in this connection: “Bush is a Wank”
While many see advantages of world administration under American leadership, to some it is becoming apparent, that there are deficiencies or tragedies which may connect to the new hegemony but they are accepted as inevitable. There are the diseases - millions of Chinese are dying from SEF (slint-eye flu), the Black populations are diminishing at a great rate from NRD (negro reproduction deficiency) and still there is AIDS, all of which some view as result of uncontrolled genetic experimentation under control of the CIA approved by the Senate in 2006. There is no guarantee that these diseases, not at present affecting Aryan or Semitic populations (except AIDS) will not spread there, and no antidotes appear available. Those who were dying had little strength to even whisper: “Bush is a Wank”
There are also social tragedies, particularly in the USA where murder and assassination has gone up in 10 years from 30,000 in 2005 to 300,000 today, with millions in jails and continuous capital executions. A kind of ʻlibrary ladiesʼ agitation, both before and after the war, turned a lot of young people against the authorities and resulted in major destabilization in the country, which had to be pacified with sternest measures, fully approved by Congress and a black lady President. The Blackwater Co was given dispensation to deal with all terrorism within the country; it formed in excess of 300 sections protecting individual billionaires as well as institutions such as Republican Tradition and others. They were encouraged to use for this purpose, foreign elements like those hired from Eastern Europe in order not to accentuate national divisions. Similar social problems developed in various European countries, particularly in Britain, where the dissension, showing as drunkenness, drug use and unlawfulness already was advanced in 2005. We did not notify our people what we already knew that: “Bush is a Wank”.
The satisfaction of a spoken warning, confirmed by an unhappy event is only a pleasure for the heartless or the witless. How did we allow it to happen? In Europe the blindness commenced on 30th March 1999 with Clintonʼs cruises on Belgrade and for America and for the rest of the world, on 11th September 2001 with Bushʼs bombing of New York. The rest followed logically in the laboratory of political destruction. Predictions of scientific fiction appear only as clichés overtaken by the reality and political presage is in the same category. The speed of our errors is so insistent: the naiveté in accepting the lies produced by one publisher, broadcaster or propagandist, dressed in moral guise; hunger for clearer purpose and fresher deeds without attention to old tradition; ideas fed by illusions; reasons from ordinary men and women not understood or accepted; appeasing friends without rigour of logic and feeling; blind attachment to economic facts and reasons; superstition that Nations are better and safer places; accepting dirigist leaders in pay of the mammon; loss of true values; loss of true sense of history; citing sacred sources as justifications for our deeds. Lastly vacillating in the face of men with power over others, who use force brutally when faced by a free man and use their power to humble and destroy him.
My birthday thoughts, are same as anyoneʼs here, observing the Apocalypse Now. I was deprived of Polish nationality as a Socialist propagandist - with backdating entered to before the purchase of Leszczyn which made that transaction illegal, since it was done by a foreigner at the time, when only Poles had the right to purchase agricultural land - and the process of dispossessing is going through the courts at present. Also deprived of the Krzyz Walecznych, my MC received in Normandy and wound star insignia for mortar wounds on Maczuga (hill 602) and bullet in Holland as they were minor and documentation was lost. Le Carré is in jail, sentenced to five years for inspiring economic terrorism, in his writing against multinationals. I write to you to help you to remember the world as it was, with a little made up dream of what might have been. I myself hope to add these notes to these published in 2008 as my last jottings. While I am being hounded now, from place to place and hidden by German friends, not far from Feuchtwangen - once a venue of a lost dream.
This is now the result of the Three Day War, which once you and I saw as improbable event, which has now happened. The wild groups are wandering over Europe, some defending what is gone, others killing for pleasure. With cities becoming like forts, considering building Carcassonne-like castlements. The remnants of Putinʼs adherents are resisting the American killing machine, in renamed by them, Leningrad and Stalingrad, both declared ʻenemy zonesʼ and being under continuous bombardment, not to mention suicide or Kamikaze happenings, parallel to Baghdad 10 years ago.
Poland is governed now from Grodzisk Mazowiecki, 40 km from her ancient capital, as nothing was left of Warsaw with only one building the Palace of Culture still remaining standing because of its solid and crude construction but in a sorry state, and seen by some as an insult to national pride. The place is convenient because it is next to a Green Zone, similar to one that existed in Baghdad, constructed by Americans to protect their interests in a dormitory suburb of Milanowek nearby. Similar Green Zones exist in all countries of Europe where convenient governments, controlled by their local Oligarchies of the Rich administer the American Dictat.
How did we allow it to happen: cry, cry the beloved Muse. How was it that we did not recognise that USʼs unwillingness to express any world plan, was hiding one aim: to govern the world on a basis of an ever present, ever lasting War on Terror in all corners of the Earth. It follows the three days in 2013 when a quarter of Europe was destroyed with 75 million dead, some also in America, who rained cruises and space missiles on Europe, and elsewhere, in what was declared a preventative act. What is/was Bush? The greatest murder in the history of our Earth. And US chose to make one inevitable sign: “Bush is NOT a Wank”.
