In the afternoon a kind of typhoon passed over Płock and its region, with gusts of wind and hail-stones - many trees were turned over, roofs lost and the entire rapeseed in Leszczyn was destroyed in half an hour. Heart-rending loss, not only financially, but also - it was beautiful and nearly ready for harvesting. We were not insured, very unwise, and we shall do so in future, but the parish, in their kindness, annulled this quarterʼs taxes for the farmers - infinitesimal, by comparison with the value lost, but a bouquet, which gave pleasure. Fortunately other crops were affected only in a minor way.
I visited Mr Pawlak, a past prime minister, at the Stock Exchange, which is situated in the old Communist party headquarters, giving many people a frequent occasion to smile. He is the leader of PSL party which as a farmer I joined, and he showed me the agricultural investments, on the floor of the Exchange, available to farmers which may perhaps be of interest in the village providing some kind of security income.
PSL the Polish Peopleʼs Movement represents the far- mer and is the only party which existed before the war, with famous names like Witos, a leader who was loved as much as Blum of Popular Front in France - he was a simple man from peasant stock, much trusted nationally when he became prime minister, whilst the elegant set made jokes of his simple ways, one of which was a saying with a snorting noise: “chusteczka do nosa premiera Witosa”: the premierʼs hankie, is blowing his nose, while holding a finger to one side of it. Another party leader Mr Mikolajczyk who was in Britain during the war, but did not succeed on his return to Poland because of very doubtful election result under Communist government, which, was surprisingly returned: an occasion for making another saying: ” I put a nightingale into the voting box but only a sparrow jumped out”.
The War of Hegemony, is essentially a war for the control of the world by its powerful people who in turn are controlled by America. It stems from the belief that human nature is too violent, which was often justified by history, to be allowed full freedom of a true democracy. In such circumstances it is also often opposed to impartial scientific method, to forthright religious views, and to socialism or any movement basing itself on equality of men. And it is fuelled by the frenzy of men for power, men who when they reach a level of control over others will not accept any refusal to their will, and who become convinced that the general rules of humanity do not apply to them. They want to be seen as first in every occasion and they establish themselves as indispensable men, like kapos, forming groups, or classes in a society, which understand clearly, without saying so, the terms of reference: to render the hegemony to American shore; supported of course with thousands of flags, in Godʼs own country, and the aircraft carriers sailing the seven seas - which we have seen all before.
But beyond the emotionalism being created to further the cause, there is hard planning. Looking at the continents: the Americas are no bother and can be swatted with a fly whisk, by stirring up unrest in Chile, Guatemala, Columbia or Nicaragua and others, adding to the war fever. Europe is a different kettle of fish; the essential of the strategy there is that the continent should not be allowed to become a Union. It has the potential to overtake America on all counts, especially because it contains views which could develop a new cultural direction - and a major threat that it could become allied with Russia. Asia, with China, India and Japan is a secondary problem: Japan is largely obedient already, though its independent views are often a nuisance; India still needs time to overcome cast system and other problems, being treated as a friendly poodle; China of course as everybody, including Napoleon always said, is a problem, but it is the last problem in the context of hegemony, which will be solved when others fall away. There is Africa, which can be treated like the Americas for the same purpose and the only strategy in relation to her is not to allow other interests, whether those of Europe or Asia to make any steps there. There is one more continent: Australia, but it is of no consequence and on a leash already.
That is the American strategy - the tactics it will employ will be judged in context of this direction. America gives impression of irresistible power which no one can counter without being destroyed. We may not be dealing with a paper tiger - nevertheless we are dealing with a country which has been strutting the world for half a century attacking small nations, or instigating street machinations to assert its power, basing itself on divisions, which it is able to create inside them. It uses divisions between rich and poor, between north and south of a country, or its left and right, or religious, or social and even racial differences: anything to serve the cause of control, in the ʻdivide and ruleʼ syndrome. America however lacks the national structure to support aggression with polished Nazi battalions - and the stomach for facing the body bags coming home. This is an infernal bother to everyone - since the American people are concerned to fight for a cause, and not for sheer conquest, even if they donʼt care a damn to find a euphemism for the War of Hegemony in one of Terrorism which makes it acceptable.
We look in bafflement at an essentially peaceful world, without great contentious interests, where everyone wants to produce, sell and live better - in which 911 is being used as a cover for aggression abroad, repression at home and creation of a fictitious War on Terror. No one really wants to kill Americans, yet $ 300 billion is spent every year to defend American people against a handful of extremists. Do Americans realize what they are paying for? That this doubtful project of conquering the world is crookedly accounted with a War on Terror ledger?
We know that we had terrorism before, a plane hijacked from time to time, the Red Brigades killing Aldo Moro or a German industrialist, an OAS cell in France, IRA in Britain, or Basque separatist ETA, or Corsica, or resistance in South Africa; sometimes it helped various armies or police forces to justify brutal interventions where an excess of democracy made business unprofitable. It was small, self-contained and would have remained so or disappeared with growing political sophistication, if it was not for the American brigandage. It is now intentionally being transformed into a major scare and a tool of propaganda becoming an arm of American National Capitalism, the Nacism replacing the Nazism. It needs big terrorism, for big multinationals, CIA et al, to justify the callousness of their aims - propagated by a vast league of criminals, making ruthless war on a handful of righteous madmen. Exasperated people go-along with the story - listening to the high pitched noise and screaming voices in the night, by which they are easily frightened. Other governments take up the tune, sometimes out of antiquated loyalties, aiding what is the War of Hegemony, against their own countries, without realising so.
It is said in the village that when meat is very hot one does not notice if it was salted or not - so, when war on terrorism is stoked up with wild flames, one does not notice the lies with which it is brimming over. American ruthlessness in pursuit of its aims as in: Vietnam, Chile, or Serbia with the lies concerning them only coming out now, will stoke the new scenario with new lies and garnish them with Patriot Act.
